Review of clinical services

Professor Mughal has considerable experience in review of clinical services in the areas of general surgery, Upper GI surgery, and cancer multidisciplinary team working (see CV). (see MDT Improvement Report).

He has carried out reviews of of clinical services on behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and NHS commisioners. He is experienced in the study of clinical teams to determine how they can function better and has demonstrated this in improving teams and patient outcomes (see CV).

Service design and reconfiguration

Professor Mughal has successfully reshaped clinical services and led several major service transformations in the NHS over the last 20 years (see CV).

Mentorship

Professor Mughal has benefitted enormously from mentorship which has helped shape his career and he has been, and remains, a mentor to several surgical trainees and consultant surgeons.
